Decide representation to increase pecuniary jurisdiction of civil courts expeditiously: Delhi High Court

The plea filed by advocate Amit Sahni argued that the present limit of ₹3 lakh is "meagre for civil courts" which results in a large number of cases filed before the district courts.

The Delhi High Court last week directed the Delhi High Court as well as Delhi Government to look into the representation seeking enhancement of pecuniary jurisdiction of the Civil Judges posted at various District Courts of Delhi and decide the same as expeditiously as possible (Amit Sahni v GNCTD and Ors).
