[Motor Accident cases] Send emails to MACT within 48 hours of receiving compensation deposit: Madras High Court to Insurance companies

A Special Bench of Justices PN Prakash and Abdul Quddhose passed the order on July 2, in continuation of suo motu proceedings initiated to develop a fool-proof system to handle MACT cases.

As part of its efforts to curb irregularities in the disbursal of motor accident compensation, the Madras High Court has directed insurance companies and transport corporations to send emails to Motor Accident Claims Tribunals (MACT) within 48 hours of the deposit of such award amounts.
