The Central government on Saturday cleared the appointment of Bombay High Court Justice Ravindra V Ghuge as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
Justice Ghuge is presently serving as the acting Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. A Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his elevation as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court on August 6.
Justice Ghuge completed his law education from MP Law College in Aurangabad in 1990.
He joined the Bar in 1990 and was elevated as the judge of the Bombay High Court in 2013.
He was appointed as acting Chief Justice of the High Court after Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar was elevated to Supreme Court in June this year.
