Breaking: Karnataka Court directs registration of FIR against Kangana Ranaut for tweet on farmers protesting Farmers Bills

A Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Court in Tumakuru, Karnataka has directed the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Kangana Ranaut regarding her tweet on farmers protesting the recently passed Farmers Acts..The order passed by Judge Vinod Balnaik reads, ."Complaint filed under Application U/sec 156(3) of Cr.P.C for investigation. The Office is hereby directed to issue intimation to the CPI of Kyathasandra PS (Police Station) along with photostat of copy of the complaint for report."JMFC Court in Karnataka.The order in the matter was reserved on October 5. .Karnataka Court reserves order in complaint seeking FIR against Kangana Ranaut for tweet on farmers protests.The complaint filed by Advocate Ramesh Naik stated that on September 21, Kangana's team tweeted the following:.In his complaint, Naik contended,"....this posting on twitter account of the accused posted by her may lead to collision between the people of different group believe in different ideology. It seems that the government authorities have turned a blind eye to the same and does not have any established measures or rules and guidelines to control and regulate the same. On the bare perusal of all these content it is more than evident that the government is least bothered and as usual waiting for some dangerous consequences to happen before taking some appropriate actions.".If such content is allowed to be posted on these platforms, "then incalculable and irreparable damage will be caused to the Farmers of the Country", the complaint stated..It was further argued,"All those who are responsible for allowing this content to be posted on the social media and those who are promoting such material to malice and defame the country’s backbone, with intention to spread the violence and destabilize the country are liable to be prosecuted and punished under these Sections 44,108,153,153A and 504 of the Indian Penal Code.".Thus, Naik had urged the Court to take cognizance of the offence committed by Kangana under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code or direct the jurisdictional police station to register an FIR in this respect..Follow Bar and Bench channel on WhatsAppDownload the Bar and Bench Mobile app for instant access to the latest legal news.
