Organ Transplantation: Bombay High Court directs Maharashtra govt to decide if minor girl can donate liver to her father

Under the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, a minor is permitted transplantation of organ or part of an organ only with appropriate permission from the Authorisation Committee constituted under the Act.

The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra government to expeditiously decide a plea by a minor girl seeking approval to transplant part of her liver to her father who is in critical condition [Riya Sagar Biyani v. State of Maharashtra & Anr.]
