[Rohini Firing] Share suggestions to improve court security with DHCBA: Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued fresh notice in the suo motu case pertaining to security concerns in court premises, following a shoot-out that broke out in the Rohini district court last month (Court on its own motion vs. Commissioner of Delhi Police)..A Division Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh also asked all the Bar Associations and parties to the case to share their suggestions and recommendations on how to improve secuirty in court premises. .The Bench added that these suggestions may be shared so that it can be filtered and so that the same suggestions are not repeated. .The Court also took note that the Delhi Police and Bar Council of India (BCI) had already given their suggestions in the matter..Suggestions from the Delhi Police and all the Bar associations shall be incorporated into the orders that will be passed by the Court, it was announced.."We don't want 100-200 reports and papers with repetitive suggestions. Any lawyer who wants to give their suggestions can send them to the Delhi High Court Bar Association," the Court said..Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma submitted on behalf of the Union that the Delhi Police has already given its suggestions..The Court went on to opine that suggestions may be given by all respondents to the matter. "Nobody should feel that their suggestions have not been incorporated. Either give them through the Bar Associations or file an affidavit. You give your appearances and we are issuing notice on the rest of the parties. Fresh notice on respondents to be served by ordinary process. Supply copies to other counsel as well but give your suggestions by Monday", the Court said. .The matter will be heard next week. .The Court was hearing a suo motu case on the security concerns at various court complexes in Delhi-NCR, post a recent incident of a gun firing that broke out at Rohini District Court in Delhi.Advocate KC Mittal appeared for Saket Bar Association.
