The Delhi High Court was on Monday informed that the settlement talks between Founder and Managing Partner of L&L Partners Rajiv Luthra and Senior Partner Mohit Saraf have failed to fructify (Rajiv Luthra v. Mohit Saraf)..Following the query put forth by a Division Bench of Justices Rajiv Sahai Endlaw and Amit Bansal, Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, ."Sadly, it is a failure.".Singhvi, who appears for Luthra, added that while they were ready to consider allowing Saraf to take certain clients and resources, talks did not materialise. ."We are prepared to consider (that) you can take clients, abc...(but) if gap is between Rs 1 and 1,000...", he remarked. .Opining that the matter should nonetheless proceed before it now, the Court listed the matter for further hearing on March 5. .Subject to the orders of the Chief Justice, the matter will be placed before the erstwhile Bench of Justices Endlaw and Sanjeev Narula. .The Court is seized of Luthra's appeal against the Single Judge's order staying the termination of Mohit Saraf from the L&L partnership..While the parties have opted for arbitration, attempts were made by senior members of the Bar to facilitate a settlement between the two..Following a suggestion made by the Court, Senior Advocate Harish Salve had agreed to mediate between Luthra and Saraf. Salve had also sought individual workable solutions from Senior Advocates AS Chandhiok and Arvind Nigam, who were already mediating with the parties..Earlier this year, the Court had ordered that during the pendency of Rajiv Luthra's appeal against the order of the Single Judge, Mohit Saraf shall not be entitled to physically access the offices of L&L Partners.
