Supreme Court notice to Bihar on plea against removal of Tanti/Tatwa from Extremely Backward Classes list

The petitioners claimed that the move violates Article 341(2) read with Article 338 of the Constitution as only parliament is empowered to add or remove any class from Scheduled Castes list.

A plea was filed before the Supreme Court in the wake of the Government of Bihar's recent move to shift Tanti/Tatwa to Scheduled Castes from the Extremely Backward Classes category (Ashish Rajak v. State of Bihar).
