Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of judicial officer as Punjab and Haryana High Court judge

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended appointment of judicial officer Ramesh Kumari as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court

A statement to that effect was published on the website of the top court.

"The Supreme Court Collegium has on 07th August, 2025 approved the proposal for appointment of Ms. Ramesh Kumari, Judicial Officer, as a Judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana," the Collegium statement said.

The High Court is currently functioning with a strength of 59 judges against its sanctioned strength of 85.

Earlier, 10 judicial officers, who were recently elevated to the High Court, were administered the oath of office on August 4.
