Supreme Court Collegium recommends elevation of 3 judicial officers as judges of Karnataka High Court

The Collegium also recommended that additional judge Justice Kurubarahalli Venkataramareddy Aravind be made a permanent judge.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Karnataka High Court.

The recommendation was made following a meeting of the Collegium held on Monday (September 15), the top court said in a statement. The following district judges have been recommended for elevation,

(i) Geetha Kadaba Bharatharaja Setty;

(ii) Muralidhara Pai Borkatte; and

(iii) Tyagaraja Narayan Inavally.

Meanwhile, the Collegium also recommended that additional judge Justice Kurubarahalli Venkataramareddy Aravind be made a permanent judge.

At present, the Karnataka High Court has a sanctioned strength of 46 judges against the approved strength of 62.
