The Ministry of Railways is undertaking procurement, Manufacturing and Supply of 1200 Electric Locomotives of 9000 hp over a period of 11 years at Rolling Stock Workshop, Dahod, and 800 Electric Locomotives of 12000 hp over a period of 10 years at Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi - under the aegis of the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the ‘Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat’ mission of the Government of India.
