Hogan Lovells, Khaitan, JSA advise Waaree Energies on ₹4,321-crore IPO

Global law firm Hogan Lovells, Khaitan & Co and JSA advised Waaree Energies on its ₹4,321-crore Initial Public Offering (IPO). Waaree Energies, a leading solar module manufacturer.

Manoj Patil is the Legal Head of Waree Engineers.

This IPO was managed by Axis Capital, IIFL Securities, Jefferies, Nomura, SBI Capital Markets, Intensive Fiscal, and ITI Capital.

Waree Energy, which debuted in the market on October 28 at an issue price of ₹ 1,503 per share, listed at a 66 % premium on the opening. This IPO is considered as one of the largest in the renewables sector, garnering large number of applications.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Biswajit Chatterjee, head of the India practice and Managing Partner of the Singapore office, along with Kaustubh George, senior associate Varun Jetly, and associates Aditya Rajput, Jayant Bharadwaj, and Sanjana Ravjiani, along with staff attorney Rosen Chen.

Khaitan & Co acted as counsel to the company and the selling shareholders. The team was led by Subhayu Sen (Partner) and Aayush Mohata (Partner), it comprised Hrithik Khurana (Associate), Ira Pandya (Associate), Aayush Virani (Associate), Aastha Sadra (Associate).

JSA acted for Book Running Lead Managers in the IPO.
