IndusLaw, Trilegal act on Unacademy $50 million acquisition of PrepLadder

Facebook-backed education technology startup Unacademy has acquired Chandigarh-based PrepLadder for $50 million in a cash and stock deal.

IndusLaw acted for Unacademy and the team was led by Partners Suneeth Katarki and Rashi Saraf along with Senior Associate Ajay Randhawa and Associates Shivani Setty, Ruhi Jain and Siddhant Maheshwari.

Trilegal advised PrepLadder and the team was led by Partner Kunal Chandra with Senior Associate Shraddha Jha and Associate Chandni Ochani.

This move will strengthen Unacademy’s presence in medical entrance examination category such as NEET PG and FMGE. As a part of its inorganic growth strategy, Unacademy recently acquired Kreatryx and took over the custodianship of CodeChef, reported Mint.
