Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited has filed a draft red herring prospectus for an initial public offering (IPO) of equity shares. The IPO comprises an offer for sale of up to 71,400,000 equity shares by Coal India Limited.

Dentons Link Legal advised the Book Running Lead Managers - IDBI Capital Markets and Securities Limited and SBI Capital Markets Limited, as to Indian Law, on this IPO.

Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee advised the BRLMs as to International Laws.

The IPO will be an Offer for Sale (OFS) of approximately 7.14 crore equity shares, amounting to 10% of CMPDI’s paid-up capital. Coal India, the promoter, will divest this stake to unlock value and provide CMPDI with the benefits of listing, although no fresh capital will be raised by the company. IDBI Capital Markets and SBI Capital Markets are the book-running lead managers, and the shares are proposed to be listed on NSE and BSE.
