UFO Moviez India Limited and Qube Cinema Technologies Private Limited entered into two 50-50 joint venture arrangements

Khaitan & Co advised UFO Moviez India Limited and Qube Cinema Technologies Private Limited on the deal

The core team consisted of Tanu Banerjee (Partner), Saloni Mehta (Principal Associate), Ankur Kumar (Associate), Vivek Badkur (Associate) with assistance from Anisha Chand (Partner) and Armaan Gupta (Associate) on Competition law related aspects, and Abhishek Dadoo (Partner) and Jayantika Khanna (Senior Associate) on regulatory aspects.

The JVs are intended for the purpose of combining their resources and infrastructure, with an overall view and purpose of increasing efficiency in their businesses.

One joint venture will be focused on commercial monetisation and marketing of the combined cinema advertising inventory on behalf of UFO and Qube in India, and the other is to oversee feature film mastering, localisation and content delivery within India and Nepal.

The Companies are in the business of providing services in the digital cinema sector and cinema related solutions.
