Khaitan & Co has advised Torrent Power Limited on the acquisition of 100% share capital of NewZone Power Projects Private Limited - 49% share capital of NewZone India Private Limited and indirect acquisition of 51% of share capital of NewZone India Private Limited. 

The Firm provided end-to-end legal support on the transaction including on the legal due diligence aspects and the structuring, drafting, negotiating and finalizing of transaction documents.

The core team consisted of Dibyanshu (Partner), Prateek Bhandari (Counsel), Srijita Jha (Principal Associate) with assistance from Ishita Gupta (Principal Associate) and Abhishek Sharma (Associate) on legal due diligence aspects.

Torrent Power is an energy and power company, having interests in power generation, transmission, distribution and the manufacturing and supply of power cables.

NewZone India Private Limited is involved in the proposed development of a coal-based thermal power project located at Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh.
