Central government clears appointment of 10 judicial officers as Punjab and Haryana High Court judges

The Supreme Court Collegium, earlier this month, had recommended these ten names after a meeting was held on July 2.

The Central government on Friday cleared the names of ten judicial officers for appointment as additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The judicial officers who have been appointed are:

  1. Virinder Aggarwal;

  2. Mandeep Pannu;

  3. Parmod Goyal;

  4. Shalini Singh Nagpal;

  5. Amarinder Singh Grewal;

  6. Subhas Mehla;

  7. Surya Partap Singh;

  8. Rupinderjit Chahal;

  9. Aradhana Sawhney; and

  10. Yashvir Singh Rathor.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended these ten names after a meeting held on July 2.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court is currently functioning with 51 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 85.
