Centre clears elevation of 3 judicial officers as judges of Karnataka High Court

Additional judge Justice KV Aravind will be made a permanent judge.

The Central government on Friday cleared the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Karnataka High Court.

The recommendation was made following a meeting of the Collegium held on Monday (September 15).

The following judicial officers have been elevated to the High Court:

(i) Geetha Kadaba Bharatharaja Setty;

(ii) Muralidhara Pai Borkatte; and

(iii) Tyagaraja Narayan Inavally.

The Central government has also notified that additional judge Justice KV Aravind be made a permanent judge.

At present, the Karnataka High Court has a sanctioned strength of 46 judges against the approved strength of 62.
