Collegium recommends Justice Arvind Kumar Verma of Chattisgarh High Court be made Permanent Judge

The High Court is currently functioning with a strength of 16 judges against a santioned strength of 22 judges.

The Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday recommended that additional judge of the Chattisgarh High Court, Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, be made a permanent judge of the same High Court.

A statement to that effect published on the website of the top court.

"The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 02nd December, 2025 has approved the proposal for appointment of Shri Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, Additional Judge as Permanent Judge in the High Court of Chhattisgarh," the collegium statement said.

The Chhattisgarh High Court is currently functioning with a strength of 16 judges against a sanctioned strength of 22 judges.
