Gary Born exits WilmerHale to join King & Spalding as Partner

Born has moved to King & Spalding along with a team that consists Partners Rachael Kent, Danielle Morris, Franz Schwarz and Marleen Krueger.

After nearly four decades at WilmerHale, Gary Born has moved to King & Spalding as a Partner and Co-Chair of the International Arbitration Group.

Born is an alumnus of University of Pennsylvania Law School.

He is widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on international commercial arbitration and international litigation. For the past 25 years he has been consistently ranked among the top international arbitration practitioners globally and as the foremost arbitration lawyer in London.

Born has acted as counsel in more than 750 international arbitrations, including several of the largest ICC and ad hoc cases and has sat as arbitrator in over 250 institutional and ad hoc proceedings. He also served as President of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Court of Arbitration and is Vice‑Chairman of the Board of ArbitrateAD.

He has represented European, US, Asian and other multinational clients in arbitrations under all major institutional rules (ICC, LCIA, AAA, Vienna, Stockholm, ICSID) and in ad hoc proceedings at leading seats such as London, Paris, Geneva/Zurich, Vienna, Stockholm, New York, Washington and Singapore. His practice covers public international law and state‑related disputes, oil and gas, joint ventures, investor‑state matters, M&A, investment banking and other financial services, project finance, energy, intellectual property and insurance disputes.
