Legal AI assistant Harvey has announced its plan to open a new office at Bengaluru later this year.

Harvey AI is a generative artificial intelligence platform specifically designed for the legal industry. It can support legal professionals in a variety of tasks, including contract drafting and review, legal research and predictive analysis, and deliver data-driven insights for both contentious and advisory matters.

The Bengaluru office will house Harvey’s engineering, sales and operations teams, who will support customers in India and beyond.

In 2023, Allen & Overy became the first law firm to form an exclusive partnership with Harvey.

In India, Harvey has partnered up with prominent law firms, including Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co and S&A Law Offices. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has also adopted Harvey alongside other AI tools.

Speaking about the expansion plan Harvey co-founder and CEO Winston Weinberg shared,

“India is an essential part of our global strategy. By investing in Bengaluru, we’re tapping into an exceptional talent pool and deepening our ability to serve the Indian legal market.”

Harvey had recently raised $300 million from a Series E fundraise led by Kleiner Perkins and Coatue.
