[BREAKING] Centre notifies appointment of seven new judges to Telangana High Court

Six of the seven are judicial officers while one is a judicial member of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.

The Central government has notified the appointment of seven new judges to Telangana High Court.

Six of the seven are judicial officers while one is a judicial member of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).

The six judicial officers appointed are:

1. P Sree Sudha;

2. C Sumalatha;

3. Dr. G Radha Rani;

4. M Laxman;

5. N Tukaramji, and

6. A Venkateshwara Reddy.

The ITAT member appointed is:

1. P Madhavi Devi.

Their names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on August 17.

The sanctioned Bench strength of the Telangana High Court was recently increased from 24 judges to 42 judges after the Central government gave nod to the High Court's proposal for the same.

As on October 1, the Telangana High Court was functioning with only 11 judges, a vacancy position of 31.
