The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted bail to Delhi riots conspiracy accused Salim Malik.
A Division Bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Madhu Jain granted regular bail to Malik in the case in which the Delhi Police has invoked the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Malik was earlier denied bail on January 29, 2026.
Tahir Hussain and Athar Khan were also denied bail by the Court on the same day. Khan's bail plea will be considered by Justices Prathiba M Singh and Madhu Jain on May 25.
In its order, the trial court had noted that while the Supreme Court had on January 5 granted bail to five accused – Shifa-ur-Rehman, Gulfisha Fatima, Salim Khan, Meeran Haider and Shadab Ahmed – Malik, Hussain and Khan were earlier denied bail by the trial court on the merits of their case.
The Delhi Police has accused Malik and several others of being involved in terror activities and conspiring to commit violence during the Delhi riots of 2020.
The prosecution has invoked the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in the case.
