Supreme Court Collegium recommends names of six judicial officers, one ITAT judicial member for appointment as judges of Telangana High Court

Telangana High Court is currently functioning with 13 judges though it has a sanctioned strength of 42 judges.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of six judicial officers and one judicial member of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for appointment as judges of Telangana High Court.

The judicial officers recommended are P Sree Sudha, C Sumalatha, Dr. G Radha Rani, M Laxman, N Tukaramji, and A Venkateshwara Reddy.

The ITAT member recommended for elevation to High Court is P Madhavi Devi.

Telangana High Court is currently functioning with 13 judges though it has a sanctioned strength of 42 judges, a vacancy position of 29.

The sanctioned Bench strength of the Telangana High Court was recently increased from 24 judges to 42 judges after the Central government gave nod to the High Court's proposal for the same.
