By three resolutions dated August 8, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that one additional judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, two additional judges of the Jharkhand High Court and four additional judges of the Rajasthan High Court be made permanent judges of the respective High Courts.

Justice Sharad Kumar Sharma has been recommended to be made a permanent judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, pursuant to a March recommendation made by the High Court Collegium. The resolution was passed after assessing a report submitted by a special committee which assessed the judgments rendered by Justice Sharma.

For the Jharkhand High Court, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that Justices  Shiva Nand Pathak and Rajesh Shankar be made permanent judges. Both judges were recommended by the High Court Collegium last April.

A report assessing the judgments rendered by them, and consultation with a colleague familiar with the affairs of the High Court also served to persuade the Supreme Court Collegium to recommend their names for being made permanent judges of the High Court.

The four names recommended for being made permanent judges of the Rajasthan High Court are Justices Ashok Kumar Gaur, Manoj Kumar Garg,  Inderjeet Singh and Virendra Kumar Mathur. Their names were recommended for being made permanent judges of the Court by the High Court Collegium last April.

All four judges were found suitable for being appointed permanent judges in light of opinions given by those familiar with the Rajasthan High Court, in addition to the special report assessing their judgments.
