The Supreme Court on Friday sought actor Karisma Kapoor's reply on a plea filed by Priya Kapur, seeking a copy of the divorce documents between Karisma and Priya’s now-deceased husband, Sunjay Kapur.

Justice AS Chandurkar heard the matter in chambers and sought Karisma Kapoor's reply to the plea in two weeks.

Karisma Kapoor and Priya Kapoor are engaged in a legal battle before the Delhi High Court over Sunjay Kapur's assets.

Karisma and Sunjay Kapur's two children have accused stepmother Priya Kapur (the third wife of Sunjay Kapur) of forging Sunjay Kapur's will and trying to gain total control over his property.

Priya has denied the allegations, calling the claims “bogus” and has defended the will's validity.

Sunjay Kapur had in 2016 filed a transfer petition before the Supreme Court seeking the transfer of his and Karisma Kapoor's divorce case from Mumbai to Delhi. During the pendency of the case, the two sides settled all their disputes.

Priya Kapur has now approached the Supreme Court seeking a copy of the complete of the petition in the disposed-off transfer petition, "including the petition, all annexures, orders, notings, settlement agreements and applications".

She has said that after Sunjay Kapur's death, she is now a legal heir and directly interested in the estate and legal matters concerning her husband.

She has contended that the document is required to be produced for official use in connection with the pending succession matter before the Delhi High Court.

Senior Advocate Maninder Singh along with advocate Smriti Asmita, appeared for Priya Kapur today.

The application was filed through advocate Vagisha Kochar.
