Delhi minister Satyendar Jain has approached the Delhi High Court challenging a lower court’s order allowing plea by the Enforcement Directorate to transfer his bail plea from the judge who was hearing the matter, to another judge..The matter was mentioned by Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra before Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma’s bench for urgent listing. Mehra told the court that proceedings in the bail matter are to start from 2 pm today and have been directed to be completed in a week.The High Court, therefore, allowed listing of the case for Monday..The Principal District and Sessions Court Vinay Kumar Gupta of the Rouse Avenue court had passed an order earlier today allowing ED’s plea for transfer of case.The matter will now be heard by Special Judge Vikas Dhull..Special Judge Geetanjli Goel had been hearing submissions in Jain’s bail plea and the matter was in its final leg, when the ED sought transfer of the matter alleging bias on the part of the judge.This plea was allowed today prompting the appeal before the High Court.Read more about the order here.
