Argus Partners advises Tata Steel in mega merger of its companies into Tata Steel

Seven of its metal companies are going to be merged into Tata Steel.

Tata Steel proposed a mega merger involving seven of its subsidiary and associate companies into Tata Steel.

The seven companies which are going to be merged into Tata Steel are:

a. Listed subsidiaries Tata Steel Long Products, Tata Metaliks and The Tinplate Company of India

b. Listed associate TRF Limited

c. Unlisted subsidiary Indian Steel and Wire Products

d. Unlisted wholly owned subsidiaries Tata Steel Mining and S&T Mining

Argus Partners has acted and advised in the formulation of schemes and other related aspects in the proposed mega merger.

The transaction team consisted of Arka Majumder (Partner), Juhi Wadhwani (Associate) and Vikram Chaudhuri (Associate).

According to Tata Steel, the merger would enable the resources of the merged entities to be pooled to unlock the opportunity for creating shareholder value and will also result in utilisation of each other`s facilities in a more efficient manner.
