Standard & Poor’s Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI) has sold its stake in Asia Index Private Limited to BSE Limited for approximately $3.6 million.

Asia Index was incorporated in 2013 as a 50:50 joint venture between SPDJ Singapore Pte. Ltd. (a subsidiary of S&P Dow Jones Indices) and BSE to calculate, disseminate, and license the widely followed suite of S&P BSE indices (including Sensex) to domestic and international clients for benchmarking and use as the basis for financial instruments such as ETFs and index funds.
