L&L Partners' Capital Markets Partner Geeta Dhania has resigned from the firm.

Dhania joined Luthra in 2005 after graduating from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She was made Managing Associate in 2010, and Partner in 2015.

Dhania has been heading the firm’s Delhi capital markets practice.

Last year, Capital Markets Head and Partner Manan Lahoty had left the firm with his team to join IndusLaw.

Speaking on Dhania's decision to leave the firm, L&L Senior Partner Mohit Saraf said,

"I very fondly remember sitting in the NLS campus and interviewing Geeta. This was 15 years ago and she has been a part of the family ever since.

In May, Geeta wrote to me, “Thankfully, the pandemic gave me an opportunity to focus on my health and also ponder over the course of my life. I do not claim that the pandemic has given me all the answers. But it has definitely taught me that I need to pause and think differently about my life than what I have done in the past one decade.”

I respect her decision and wish her all the best in all her future endeavours."

We have reached out to Dhania for comment.

The development comes at a time when the firm is going through a tumultuous phase, with L&L Founder Rajiv Luthra and Senior Partner Mohit Saraf locking horns on the issue of opening up the equity to add new partners to the firm.
