Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of 3 judicial officers as Delhi High Court judges

Shail Jain, Madhu Jain and Vinod Kumar's names have been recommended for judgeship.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Delhi High Court.

In the meetings held on July 1 and July 2, the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and also consisting of Justices Surya Kant and Vikram Nath recommended the appointment of the following judges:

  • Shail Jain

  • Madhu Jain and;

  • Vinod Kumar

Notably, Bar & Bench reported today that the Collegium has tightened the process for selection of judges and intensified scrutiny of candidates.

It was also revealed that the Collegium interacted with a total of 54 candidates in 2 days to fill High Court judge vacancies.
